An interesting path has been carved as JH Design has progressed from a
small one-man operation at inception, to the small but strong through the
line advertising agency that it is today.
1986
> JH Design established as a business presentation service.
> Training offered on DOS-based presentation package - Zenographics Mirage.
> All work produced in-house and output to digital printers and camera.
1990
> Introduction of qualified designer launches Graphic Design service
within the business.
> First involvement with reproduction houses and commercial printers.
1991
> Extension from presentation graphics into corporate identity design.
> Majority of work still in presentation graphics.
1993
> Growth of staff to 3 qualified graphic designers.
> Purchase of a vinyl cutter extends services into vinyl signage.
> Marketing and growth of the Bureau services.
> Majority of work still in presentation graphics.
> Training extended to Windows packages such as CorelDraw, Aldus Freehand & Pagemaker.
1994
> First product launches are handled.
> Extensive signage projects are handled.
> Majority of work still in presentation graphics.
> Collection & Delivery services on offer.
1995
> Presentation graphics market shows signs of moving towards Multimedia.
> Equal split between presentation work and design work.
> Marketing of design services.
> Purchase of a large-format colour printer extends Bureau service.
1996
> Significant increase in volume of design and marketing assignments.
> Growth of staff to 4 qualified graphic designers.
> Design work becomes the major player in the business.
> Acquisition of full Multimedia software.
> Involvement with the Internet and WWW.
> General trend towards Multimedia presentation is now obvious and irreversible.
> Further extension of the Bureau with the purchase of a CD writer for
archiving client files and JH Design jobs.
1997
> First Multimedia launch handled.
> Animation services on offer.
> Acquisition of Web page design software.
> First Web pages designed.
> Continuing involvement in design and print.
> Design and production of first monthly publications.
1998
> A focus on the design aspect of the business to incorporate a more
strategic and marketing orientation.
> Expansion of the design service into Below, Through and Above the line
advertising.
> Web site design becoming a larger part of the business.
1999
> Continuing in the same direction as 1998, with the through-the-line
client base broadening.
> Web site design and development and increases
2000
> Web site maintenance now offered as an extension of web development
services.
> Through-the-line business continues to grow with regular business being
Maxiprest, FRS and SAADA.
